How to do lip piercing
First, you need to find a trustworthy piercing studio. The best thing to do is ask friends and acquaintances about their experiences in the studios in your city or look around the Internet for reviews. A good indicator of cleanliness and popularity today can also be the social media channels of the piercers or studios.
Once you have found a suitable studio, you make an appointment for the piercing. Would you like some advice first? This is also not a problem in most studios; after all, different piercings have different healing times and risks, which you should inform yourself beforehand. You have to sign a declaration of consent that the piercer is allowed to ‘injure’ you and has told you about all risks. With piercings of all kinds, these are mainly swelling and inflammation, as they are pierced directly through the muscle tissue.
Once the point of the groove has been selected, you can start. Depending on the type of piercing, the selected area is marked with a pen, cleaned thoroughly and then fixed with special piercing pliers. The actual pricking only takes a second: the hole is pierced with a hollow needle (also called an indwelling cannula) with a plastic tube in it. The first piece of jewellery is then pulled through the line. In the last step, the ball is screwed onto it. Lastly, the piercer will give you care products such as disinfectants and special cotton swabs and explain the correct use and follow-up care.
Infected Lip Piercing
Depending on the location, it can take up to eight weeks for the initial jewellery to be changed and for the wound to heal completely. Be sure to follow the professional’s care instructions and only touch your new piercing with clean hands! In the first hours after the sting, kissing, smoking, and alcohol consumption is taboo as there is an increased risk of infection. If the piercing channel or the surrounding tissue is hardened, particularly red, or if there is excessive pus or other fluids from the puncture site, you should go to the studio or the doctor and have your piercing examined. Swelling, on the other hand, is quite normal. With piercings, in particular, you should make sure that your clothes do not get caught in the freshly pierced area when putting on and taking off. Otherwise, your piercing threatens to tear.
Lip Piercing Cost
For piercings, you should expect prices between 20 and 100 euros. This price includes the first jewellery and maintenance; you have to pay extra for the second jewellery.
